Join Gabriele Boiselle and explore the heart of Thoroughbred bluegrass country with photographic access to some of the top equine facilities in the world. Our subjects will range from new born foals to sleek young race horses to stunning vistas and panoramas. After this intensive two day workshop with one of the world's leading equine photographers you will come away with a renewed love for horses and an understanding of photography that will lead you down the path of capturing the spirit of the horse. This workshop is geared to people wishing to gain a better understanding and working knowledge of their DSLR and using it to improve their photographic vision of horses.

The workshop will run two full days. The morning session of the first day will be held in the Montgomery Inn meeting room with check in, introductions and a technical presentation to prepare participants for the shooting sessions of the workshop. After the lunch break we will travel to area farms for hands on photography sessions. The second day will start early with more photo ops, followed by lunch and afternoon photo reviews. There will be a late day shoot to take advantage of the long days and great light available this time of year.

Gabriele's mission in her photographic work is to capture the soul and essence of the horse. She will share her passion and knowledge with the workshop participants as she concentrates on the technical basics of creating successful equine photography, providing some fail-proof skills through exercises that guide you to consistently good horse images. Here is your opportunity to listen, learn and get both direction and feedback from one of the world’s premiere equine photographers. Gabriele is generous and eager to share her knowledge and experience. She has the rare gift of being able to communicate her passion and knowledge in an entertaining and educational way. Her passion for horses, photography and travel are sure to captivate, entertain and inspire you!

About Gabriele Boiselle

Gabriele Boiselle is a prolific photographer well known for her books and calendars of horses and wildlife. Her travels have taken her all over the world. She has lead photo workshops in Russia, Portugal, Morocco, Egypt, Africa and Poland. For 25 years Gabriele has traveled the world to discover and document the universe of the horse, from the wild horses in the Namibian desert to the Gauchos in Argentina with their Criollo horses. Her photographic journeys have taken her to the rare breeds of Iceland and India, to Lesotho for the Basuto pony and to Indonesia for the Zumba pony. For many years she photographed all manner of equestrian sports, documenting a child’s first ribbon to the Olympic games and other international competitions, making her one of the most versatile and widely published photographers working today.

“Horse photography is something for crazy enthusiasts and horse lovers close to madness” said Boiselle. “If you are not burning inside to make good pictures, if you are not willing to cross rivers and get up in the middle of the night and prepare horses for a shoot, you will never achieve the satisfaction in making very special images. I am eager to share my insights and experience with you during the seminar. And I promise you, you will be dreaming in the night of horses. We will think, love and photograph horses.”
