Equine Photographers Network Retreat Schedule

Friday, April 25 - Advanced/pro group check in
Advanced/Pro participants arrive at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Craig, Colorado.
Check in between 5:00 - 7:00 PM for your registration packet and schedule of events and directions to the shoots. Snacks will be available while you have the chance to meet up with old friends and make new ones! Dinner will be on your own.
Saturday & Sunday, April 26 & 27- Sombrero Shoot, Advanced Group Only
Cowboys and Horses Advanced Shoot
We will spend two full days at Sombrero Ranch with exclusive access to a group of cowboys and a herd of horses. We will be able to set up shoots and photograph the cowboys as they go about their work. Scott Trees will lead various sessions at the ranch. Lunch and Dinner included.
Sunday, April 27 - Intermediate group check in
Intermediate participants arrive at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Craig, Colorado.

Monday, April 28
Advanced/Pro and Intermediate Combined Group Session
Morning Session:
Combined Group Portfolio Reviews with Scott Trees and Carien Schippers
Plan to bring no more than 20 prints up to 8x10 that best represent your equine photography.
Afternoon Session:
Guest Speaker: Kate Dardine, Fine Print Imaging, "Creating a Fine Art Identity"
How do you break away from the herd? Come find out the most important steps in creating an art identity that will put you – and your work – on the radar screen of those who can make a difference in your photography career. Having a consistent body of work is only the start. In this workshop you will learn what works – and what doesn’t – as you create an identity that is uniquely you. Come prepared to think, to learn and to grow!
A professional artist herself, Kate Dardine has 20 years experience with Fine Print helping artists and photographers market their work Kate’s work is represented by galleries in Colorado and Oklahoma. You can view Kate’s paintings on her website, www.katedardine.com.

Larry Padgett is the Executive Director for The Center for Fine Art Photography, located in Fort Collins, CO. Prior to starting the Center he was a commercial photographer for six years. Before that he spent 25 years in sales and marketing, and as a small business development consultant. His last five years, before going over to the dark slide of life was focused on internet marketing consulting for small and mid size companies.

Space is limited. Advance deposits are encouraged to reserve your spot. Registration and payment in full must be received by April 14, 2008 to avoid a $50 late fee.

Lodging
The retreat includes lunches, dinners, snacks and drinks. Lodging and breakfast is on your own.
You are responsible for making your own hotel reservation. To make room reservations at the Craig Holiday Inn, phone (970) 824-4000. Be sure to request our group rate using the code "Equine Photographers Group." The rate is $79 single or double occupancy or upgrade to a suite for $109.
The Craig Holiday Inn will hold a block of rooms for us until April 5, 2008. After that date room availability and special rates are not guaranteed.
All guests of the Craig Holiday Inn will receive free wireless. There is also a heated indoor swimming pool, health & fitness center and self-serve washer/dryer.
Transportation & Directions
The closest airport is Yampa Valley Regional Airport (use airport code "HDN"). It is the only commercial service airport serving all of Northwest Colorado - some travel sites call it Steamboat Springs or Hayden Airport.
The airport is located approximately 20 minutes from Craig. There is a taxi service available, All Around Taxi, 970-824-1177 in Craig. You may call them a day ahead of time to notify them of your flight information and they will be waiting for you. The fare is $48 for the first person and $4 each additional person so share rides if you can.
Once you arrive at the hotel, you will be able to share rides to the events with other members.
What to Bring:
• Camera and film or digital media
• Photos/Portfolio for review
• Laptop if you plan to shoot/review digital or if you plan to participate in digital related roundtables - Mac users should make sure you have a VGA adapter to connect to our projector
• Rain Gear and comfortable walking shoes, be prepared for rugged terrain and extremes of weather - snow is possible
